The wardroom is available for members and their private guests from 0900 until 1700 either to relax during busy visits to London or to conduct business. Members should advise of business visits to prevent over-booking. The bar opens from 1230 to 1430 on weekdays when the chief bar steward serves a full range of drinks and hot and cold drinks. (NB Hot food should be ordered 24 hours in advance).
There are two en-suite cabins, one double and one twin, for the use of members occupancy at a most attractive rates. Both cabins have colour televisions, digital radios and full Wi-Fi. Please inform the ship keeper if you will be arriving after normal hours to check in and collect your key.
Members who wish to hold meetings on board Wellington may book the ward room for small groups (no more than 6) or the River room (no more than 8) or the committee room for up to 15 persons. For larger groups, the court room may be available. Members should be aware that apart from the ward room, the other meeting rooms listed above are subject to costs and available to external organisations and an early enquiry and reservation to the Business Manager is essential. Please note that members wishing to hold private meetings in any of the meeting rooms including the wardroom should inform the business manager in advance.
The library onboard the Wellington contains numerous publications on a variety of maritime subjects ranging from the complete works of Joseph Conrad through technical books on professional subjects for the Master Mariner, shipping company histories, the history of the Merchant Navy and polar exploration amongst other subjects. In addition, there are sailing ship log books, first-hand accounts of seafaring and empirical research papers.
The Library content has been under review for some time and while some duplicate and non-relevant volumes have been disposed of, a recent donation from the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights has enhanced several area of particular interest including British shipping company histories and shipbuilding history.
These publications may be freely consulted by members of the Company, and by serious students of maritime matters making an appointment through the HCMM administrative office.
Banqueting and Dining Facilities
The Court room, Quarterdeck, Model room are available for hire for private functions, banquets, formal and informal dining and weddings.
